Just got _Trj-cendance_ the other day - nice 4-tracker of Luke's older Detroit styled techno. Not astounding but pretty pleasant. And yeah, _Four Cornered Room_ is ace - lush, UK IDM from back in the day. || [CiM] || cim_@hotmail.com || - ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

Back in the day indeed - the day being 1994 : both the 4 Cornered Room and Yellow Wise Rug are dated 94 on GPR - which of these came out first? (4CR beating YWR hands down ::: the track "7th Plain" is just soooooooo wonderful.) I * np : Extront Vol 2

_My Yellow Wise Rug_ on GPR is also highly recommended. Recently picked up the promo 12" of the new Planetary Assult Systems and was very disappointed. Very bangin' and no new ideas from Luke here, but maybe the rest of the album will be better (?) cya Nick -- «» N i c k L a r s e n «» nlarsen@ms.com «» +44 0171 425 3712 «» Morgan Stanley

I much prefer the Four Cornered Room to the Yellow Wise Rug album - in fact, buying YWR discouraged me from hunting out any more of Luke Slater's 7th Plain output... I recently got hold of the Four Corned Room and was impressed - really nice melodic Detroit influenced techno..

Planetary Assault Systems went downhill from Vol 5 I reckon.. PAS's 'Twilight' is a classic.. My favourite Luke Slater banger is the main track on X-Tront Vol 3.. disgustingly dirty, grubby production, and harsh swept EQed percussion - wicked.

Yes - quite so. Had that taped from a John Peel show for ages without being able to track it down, so very glad when it came out on the first P.A.S. comp. What a glorious, burbling tune it is. adam
